ABOUT D1
A NEW CHAPTER
FOR NEW ZEALAND
BASKETBALL.
D1 Series is a new national summer basketball competition being built in New Zealand, with eight inaugural franchises planned for 2027.
More basketball. More opportunity. New teams, new identities and new stories for communities to get behind.
BEHIND THE SERIES
BUILT BY PEOPLE
WHO BELIEVE IN
THE OPPORTUNITY.
D1 Series is being developed by a New Zealand ownership and founding group bringing together experience, relationships and a shared belief in the potential of basketball. The group is currently working behind the scenes on the competition structure, inaugural franchises, partnerships and pathway toward the first season.
THE D1 OWNERSHIP GROUP WILL BE INTRODUCED soon.
As D1 moves closer to launch, we'll introduce the people behind the Series and tell more of the story of how D1 came together.
